Sensational Kids’ psychologists counsel and support children, adolescents, adults and families. Our psychologists work to develop resilience and skills enabling clients to address issues such as anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorders, depression, family issues, grief and loss, parenting and self esteem. Their approaches vary with individuals and might include play-based therapies with children, and empowering and supporting parents to enhance family functioning.

Psychologists

BRITTANY TAYLOR

Brittany graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013 with a Master of Educational Psychology degree and completed extra training to become registered as an Educational & Developmental Psychologist. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society and sits on the committee board of the VIC College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists whose work provides training and advocacy for other psychologists.

Brittany has worked in a range of primary schools within the Government and Catholic systems. She has a passion for working with those children who suffer from anxiety in addition to supporting young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Brittany also has experience in working with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum in addition to those with behavioural difficulties, emotional regulation issues, social concerns, and with children from trauma backgrounds. She believes that working with the child’s “team” (i.e., collaboratively with families and schools) is the best way of bringing about change in a young person’s life. Brittany uses a range of different therapy modalities including cognitive-behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, and play-based learning.

Brittany currently works full-time at a primary school in the south-east suburbs so is based at our Cheltenham clinic on Saturdays.

CORINNE MESCHER - assessing psychologist

Corinne is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She gained a Master of Psychology (Counselling) from Monash University. She has undertaken further training in Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Perinatal Mood Disorders and Infant Attachment and is currently completing an area of practice endorsement in Counselling Psychology. She has worked extensively with children and their families in both private clinics and government agencies, also providing counselling and assessments in schools, foster care and adoption.

Corinne’s areas of special interest include supporting children, adolescents and their families with presenting concerns such as anxiety disorders, low mood, behavioural and emotional regulation issues, social skills development, attachment and parenting support. She is a trained ‘Tuning into Kids’ facilitator and aims to provide practical parenting advice to assist parents to create and maintain positive family and parent-child relationships.

Corinne is based at our Cheltenham clinic and is available for appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Sabrina Vu - Assessing Psychologist

Sabrina graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists. She is passionate about working with young with young people.

Sabrina has worked in the education (both primary and secondary) and forensic setting with children and young people with a range of diagnosis and backgrounds. She has a passion for working with children who suffer from anxiety in addition to supporting young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia.

Sabrina also has experience in working with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum in addition to those with behavioural difficulties, emotional regulation issues, social concerns, and with children from trauma backgrounds. In addition, Sabrina is ADOS trained and works with the Speech Pathology Team to conduct autism diagnostic assessments.

Sabrina is available for assessments only and is based at our Kensington clinic.

Caroline Power - Assessing Psychologist

Caroline is based at our Cheltenham clinic and conducts Autism, Educational and Cognitive assessments.
